Course Introduction
===================

You are looking at an OpenDSA "book instance".
This book contains materials to support a series of presentations
about the OpenDSA eTextbook system, entitled
*Integrating the eTextbook:
Truly Interactive Textbooks for Computer Science Education*.
This course is part of
`C2GEN: A Chautauqua Program for the 21st Century <http://www.c2gen.org>`_.

There are a total of four presentations.
Each presentation relates to the following chapters that make up this
book instance.
The topics and target audience for the presentations are as follows.

#. **Topic:** A guided tour of OpenDSA features.

   **Audience:** Anyone who is
   not familiar with the OpenDSA project and materials. If you have used
   an OpenDSA book instance before in a class, then you do not need to
   watch this presentation.

#. **Topic:** Using OpenDSA in the classroom. We will discuss the
   various instructor tools, and then where and how OpenDSA has been used
   in courses.

   **Audience:** Instructors who want to consider using OpenDSA in a
   course.

#. **Topic:** Getting started as a contributor to OpenDSA.

   **Audience:** Anyone who is considering modifying or creating
   materials for the OpenDSA project.

#. **Topic:** Creating JSAV-based visualizations. This is the next
   step to contributing to OpenDSA.

   **Audience:** Anyone who would like to create or modify OpenDSA
   visualizations and exercises.
